Electrical Engineering

Our electrical engineering division has comprehensive expertise and experience covering all aspects of power systems from 220KV EHV systems down to LV distribution, electrical system studies including network modeling, calculations, analysis, design and detailed engineering for both offshore and onshore projects.

  • Electrical system studies involving EHV/HV/MV and LV systems of complex networks which includes load flow, short circuit, harmonic analysis, protection coordination, switching transient and transient stability studies using established software like ETAP, PSCAD etc. This also includes major electrical equipment like transformers, shunt reactors, submarine cables etc.
  • Electrical calculations required for all detailed engineering activities with established procedures/in-house developed spread sheets duly validated as per established practice.
  • Developing engineering philosophies like interlock and inter-tripping philosophy, protection & metering philosophy, earthing and lighting philosophies etc.
  • EHAZOP, IECEx, and power system study workshops.
  • Developing key engineering documents like electrical design basis, electrical load list, key single line diagrams, switchboard single line diagrams, protection and metering diagrams, schematic diagrams, specifications, data sheets, cable schedule, interconnection diagrams, MTOs.
  • Specialized resources to work on engineering software like AVEVA Electrical, SPEL, Dialux (for lighting) etc.
  • Experience with critical electrical equipment like EHV GIS, HV switchgear, EHV transformers, shunt reactors, submarine cables, ESP topside equipment, UPS, NAV AID, state-of-the-art ECMS/SCMS etc.
  • Interface with mechanical packages, ICSS, building subcontractors and engineering consultants.
  • Brownfield engineering activities which include site visits, adequacy checks, tie-ins, integration with existing systems and downtime optimization.
  • Procurement support MR / TBE / Vendor document review / Inspection support (FAT).
  • 3D modeling (E3D/PDS/PDMS), Model reviews, Engineering layout drawings (Hazardous area classification layout, equipment layout, cable routing layout) and installation standard details.
  • Experience in constructability review with the offshore installation team, engineering support to construction / commissioning, and as-built preparation.
