Structural Engineering

Our structural engineering team provides complete and total engineering solutions from conceptualization through to installation for all types of fixed offshore platforms, subsea PLEM / valve skids and SBM supports. These include jackets, topsides, helidecks, living quarters, technical buildings, bridges, flare towers, communication towers and associated appurtenances and also brownfield modifications, float over topsides in shallow to medium water depths.

The structural engineering group uses SACS, GRL-WEAP, ANSYS, and a range of in-house developed software including that for 3D modeling such as E3D, PDMS, S3D, PDS and Tekla. For Nesting uses SPPLM, OMNIWIN and PRO Nest.

  • Design basis and material specifications.
  • In-service analyses (In Place, Fatigue, Dynamic, Seismic, Fire & Blast, Pushover, Boat landing, Ship Impact, Post Impact/Collapse, platform extension studies and structural integrity assessments).
  • Cathodic protection design.
  • Yard engineering (panel lifting, Jacket roll-up analysis, weighing, module lifting).
  • Construction aids design (skid track, skid shoe and grillage design).
  • Installation aids design.
  • 3D modeling, design drawings and shop fabrication packages.
  • Pre-service analysis (skidded load out, trailer load out, transportation/sea fastening, barge strength verification, float over related, lift, launch and upending.
  • On bottom stability and mud mat design, pile drivability).
  • Material management including control sheets and nesting.
  • As-built documents/drawings.
